KSingh was retained by the City of Milwaukee to provide design services for the extension of the Beerline Trail from Richards Street to Capitol Drive. The extension was approximately 0.70 miles in length and was 10-feet wide. The trail was designed through a former rail corridor and, as such, had several soil contaminants to manage. KSingh created a soils management plan and permitted it through the WDNR. The soils management plan allowed for the soil to remain on site in berms placed adjacent to the trail. The berms are currently being used as stages for local community groups. Additional challenges included completing the design within a 12 month schedule through the South East Region Local Programs delivery process.
